Debrief

A critical part of any training regimen is the debriefing. This must entail what went right, what went wrong, and what caused the performance itself. Proper stance, scanning, teamwork, and proper use-of-force are just a few of the reviewable points. These debriefs can occur within the simulator at the time of the performance, or in a classroom environment later. The trainee's performance can also be evaluated and kept in a record if so desired. This is an invaluable tool to improve trainees' performances.

Trainee Monitoring and Recording (TMAR)

Trainee Monitoring and Recording allows real-time monitoring and recording. Playback during the session is encouraged to critique the session, both in its good and bad points. Instructors can monitor during the session while making notes for the playback. This allows the instructor to pinpoint key events and/or techniques during the session for a more effective review and feedback process.

Instructor Control Panel

Control panel gives full control to the instructor. Audio distractions can be added to more accurately simulate the real world, such as a barking dog, overhead helicopter, or speeding ambulance. Different branches and outcomes can be randomized to prevent predictability and anticipation. Instructors can change the scenario in real-time based on verbal commands and/or actions of the trainee. The instructor can also activate the Threat-Fire devices to instantly simulate a hit on the officer for any reason, such as the officer not taking cover, if a target is not seen, or if a target is not successfully engaged. Threat-Fire activation can also be combined with the video recording from TMAR so a trainee can be shown exacting why the instructor activated the Threat-Fire device.

Video Debriefing

Picture-in-picture allows trainees to observe their actions during scenario playback. Allows debrief capability during a play-by-play action review of the entire session or partial replays. A video is worth a thousand words.

Scenario Debriefing

The software presents a complete time line of events as they occurred during the session. This is a very powerful tool to pinpoint areas of interest or concern during the debriefing sessions. Trainee’s reaction time and shot placement can be cued by the instructor. The objective continues to be as realistic a simulation as possible.
